Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Another Free Ford Fluff Press

Phoebe should be embarrassed to print this drivel as “news.” Nobody at Ford thinks Farley is as great as she does, probably not even Bill at this point.

Norway is the future. and Farley figured the country might reveal a secret to Tesla's future strategy.

But Farley doesn't speak Norwegian. So he asked that his Ford Norway team pull together information about Tesla in the northern European country that borders Sweden, Finland and Russia — and translate it.

The Ford CEO specifically sought to track the behavior changes of his top competitor every 30 days.

Farley has noticed something no one else in the states seems to be discussing.

Tesla, which has thrived without the use of old-fashioned car dealerships, is building brick-and-mortar facilities that look a lot like what Americans would call a dealership.

You heard that right. Tesla is going old school.

Tesla calls them stores, and they're stand-alone buildings.

The fluff never ends at the Detroit Free Ford Press, I wonder how Aaron feels about thousands of his coworkers being unceremoniously terminated from the jobs they dreamed of having. One can tell how bad Q3 numbers are by the number of press releases Ford pays Phoebe to print as “news:”

Aaron Bresky, now 50, still remembers that 7th grade classroom moment on Career Day so long ago.

"A lot of people were presenting, saying they were going to be doctors and lawyers, and I stood up and said, 'I want to be an engineer at Ford working on trucks,'" Bresky said. "When I did that, my class and teacher started laughing. I asked them, 'What are you laughing at?'"

His teacher at Jefferson Middle School in St. Clair Shores didn't skip a beat, he recalled. "She said, 'That's great, Aaron. But it's pretty specific. I know you'd like to work on Ford trucks, but you can't just say that and it'll happen."

Yet, that's exactly what happened.

This is the story of a little boy who fell in love with the Ford pickup while helping his grandpa plow snow during cold Michigan winters and who, this week, traveled to Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky to watch the unveiling of the 2023 Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks he helped bring to life. The truck series, which will go on sale early next year, is built by UAW members at the Kentucky Truck Plant nearby, as well as the Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake.

Not sure how JF has time to get any work done with so much time spent racing, crafting an image, or other daily doses of his brilliance in the press. Maybe I answered the question there.

Bragging about lack of sleep is not an accomplishment rather it is poor self care. CEOs should be rested to make important decisions. Lack of sleep often during time change results in increased car accidents. Instead of chasing celebrity with a podcast, getting a few extra hours of sleep would be preferred.

Yes ICE Vehicles are connected too. But I can disconnect the modem and fill up with cash and not get tracked. Anyone arguing that connected EVs are no different than connected ICE Vs is ignorant.

@pkt+1iUlqbCQ Not sure why you're limiting that post to EVs. There are connected ICE cars as well.

Every EV should have a bumper sticker or badge " Powered By Big Coal" if you want real truth in advertisement... and reveal the dirty fine print of the Green New Deal.

Regarding post @ece+1iUlqbCQ

Ford's model E team and leadership has addressed your bullet points in the past. Also, by now you should be clear on the benefits of EV's and the digital future. With just the small changes you can make to your everyday life, you too can embrace it. Plenty of content is available on the atFord homepage. Even on the external Ford website too.

To the poster listing the truths about EVs, you forgot that EVs are about control. Fully connected, they can switch you EV off anytime they want to! Or limit your charging allowance. In the next pandemic they will determine who can drive and who cannot. Even if you turn your GPS location off, they can track you everytime you plug into a charger.

EVs are not about the environment. They are about controlling they population.

@sxw+1iUlqbCQ Because Ford PR contacted Phoebe and asked her to run the story. It had been almost 5 minutes since we were last reminded of Farley's brilliance in the local media so it was time for an update.

  • Electric vehicles are the biggest polluters of the planet. Pollution is not visible because it happens at the manufacturing stage.
  • Electric vehicles have a small range, they are ideal for recreational use or small trips, but cannot be used for reliable transportation over long distances (think evacuation during a natural disaster - storm, volcanic eruption, wildfire, etc., or some other emergency). They also take a prohibitively-long time to charge, a major problem in an emergency.
  • Electric vehicles are actually not safe, they catch fire or explode in rather minor accidents (and sometimes self re-ignite after fire has been put out).
  • Electric vehicles are expensive to repair, a bent fender may entail the replacement of a rather complex electronic module.
  • Electric vehicles are expensive to dispose of and/or recycle.

Shall I go on?

His obsession with Tesla and Musk is unhealthy, bordering on criminal.

Hilarious. Let us genuflect to the brilliance of The Car Guy.

The worst part is this was obviously fed to her by one of Truby's minions. There's no way she just stumbles upon this made up story on her own.

Exactly how does she know Farley noticed this before anyone else in the United States? Because he said so, or because she asked everyone else in the United States? Very poor jlounalism.
