Doubled salaries

I am trying to get a better offer and all I have been offered so far are only slightly higher salaries.

On the other hand, here I read about those who doubled their salaries after they left here, and some even got more than that. It sounds too good to be true.

I don't believe that there are many of those who received such enormously better offers!? There is also a possibility that I'm just not lucky enough.

Amazon will own your soul and work you to death. Great job but if you're working a cushy 40 hr life at Vz and think that's how it will be there, think again.

People that get fired from a company go on the internet to feel better about themselves. Verizon pays market rates and has almost no accountability. Easiest job you could ever hope for

Depends how much you were underpaid to being with. Nobody is doubling their salary switching from being a Verizon rep to an ATT rep. If you switched from being a sales rep into say operations you may be so far underpaid you can double by leaving. But if you are a midband person you won't double going elsewhere in most cases.

A lot of these 'I now make double' are entry-level employees and low-level managers. Once you reach mid-level, or a specialized employee think development I.E software will likely lead to double the salary.

I still work part time here but reduced my hours for a full time job in a different industry doing what I went to school for. The initial salary was 33% more and has increased to 43% more currently.
The positions and pay are out there, it just depends on what you want.
As for why I work part-time here? I am trying to purchase a house and pay off my student loans.

That all depends on your education, experience, and the skills you bring to the job. Hiring manager has to justify to HR why you deserve to get paid more.

Depends on your education and title and qualifications. Your not leaving as a store clerk making $20 an hour and getting $40 at ATT store that’s for sure.

Don't you believe it, it's just not true. The hiring company still has the upper hand. They will not overpay for any position. In most cases, even if you walk on water, they will try to beat you down on wages. Armed with the knowledge that Verizon pays very high wages, they will dictate what they are willing to pay.
