Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Clearwater has other plans to reduce employee headcount and it's effective immediately!

From an email sent to Clearwater employees today!

"The Site Leadership Council is closely monitoring Hurricane Ian. The National Hurricane Center updated its projected path for Hurricane Ian at 11:00 AM. The projected path shows the Tampa Bay area in the potential track of Ian on Wednesday, 9/28/2022 at 8:00 AM.

At this time, the Clearwater facility will remain open until further notice.  Again, we are continuously monitoring the storm’s path and will immediately update you as events unravel."

Hurricane Warnings posted; massive evacuations occurring; airports and hospitals closing; severe and possibly deadly flooding imminent; roads will be covered by flood waters;
100+ mile per hour winds; guarantee of losing power throughout the city and county; 911 services not available once winds pass 40 miles per hour; roof leakages throughout the plants; and the Site Leadership Council and senior management will be where?!?

How will Honeyhell Clearwater feed and house those cutoff from home due to flooding and winds?!? What about the inevitable health emergencies that will occur while being forced to stay?!?

This company and the Jackwad leadership plans on using Mother Nature to reduce headcount?!?

Yeah, they're gonna Shape The Future alright!

So now that hurricane Ian has made landfall it is forecasted to move over Florida to the Atlantic and then turn north into Georgia and South Carolina possibly going over Charlotte. Does anybody have the tail number of the corporate jet to see if Darius is gonna stay the course or fly to Europe to avoid the hurricane?

The wording on that notification is beyond tone deaf. They can’t even bother to fake concern for their employees? I’m assuming many workers live in the mandatory evacuation zones. Can the site function without that portion of the workforce? Are employees required to waste vacation days if they are evacuated?

It’s a game that’s been in play for at least five years. Unless the government closes the state down, which would put the onus on the company to pay for your time off, it’s on you to take paid or unpaid time off until otherwise.

Nobody listens to site leadership anyway. Current leader is the most reasonable in 2 decades and she is finding that the shouting and bullying of predecessors just made all the workers plug their ears. They ignore directions, offer no suggestions, and defer all decisions to the next person up the food chain. Nothing gets done and nothing gets decided by anyone below a VP.

If you wanted to prep your house for the hurricane you had to take a vacation day. 3 of the 4 zones in Pinellas County ( where CLW campus is) are under mandatory evacuation. We expect 20+ inches of rain, 4-6 ft storm surge and about 8 hours of sustained winds 80-100 mph. But by all means keep campus open. Even local Starbucks were closed today until at least Thursday.

Civil authorities have precedence over some Site Leadership Council.

@tis. Are you here in Clearwater? I am and I'm sure what I posted was NOT hyperbole! Everything I said is a valid statement. Just go back to your computer and work from home. You're probably management any way and I pray no one perishes because of managements attitude toward the ones that actually make money for this screwed up dysfunctional and toxic place!

What a$$ho!es - only HON would put an employee's life in danger. This isn't the first time they've done this at Clearwater. Happened a few years ago with another hurricane.

But it’s the most important quarter of your life. We need revenue more than we need workers.
