Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Too much dead weight

The most notable sign that the company has too much dead weight is the toxic atmosphere they create. There is role conflict and role ambiguity, which has become rampant. For those who have worked in competing companies - is there as much dead weight there or is it Nike specific?

That sounds like the best way to go about working at Nike.

It’s the managers who role in at 10:30. One must do their Orange Theory class first and then pretend to manage while talking to their friends about their next weekend plans.

Role ambiguity??? Oh, you must mean “the matrix.”

In all sincerity, there’s some dead weight. Lots of highly compensated people doing very little. They aren’t the ones leaving though, are they?

No one is a team player anymore. Management is toxic or they just turn a blind eye to all the toxic BS. It's all bad.

Nike has 30% too many people across all departments. All other brands are much leaner = no time for politics and BS
