When that happens the computer stays at the office and it doesn't come home on weekends either. That time spent being productive before official working hours which would have otherwise been spent commuting. Well that time is no longer spent working either. This is great for productivity. Oh the break room visits , stopping by the offices and cubes to " collaborate" on weekend plans and getting caught up on socialization. Then there is the hypocrisy of ESG. With all that CO2 being spewed into the atmosphere having to drive to work. Shouldn't a carbon credit be given for T for allowing work from home? Really stinks when the C suite is more worried about there other occupation, collecting rent from occupied spaces and owning the building services and restaurants catering to the offices. Yeah its really about "collaboration ". It's about making more money on those services as a way to line pockets with moar money while kicking Environmental to the curb.
Good. They know for a fact that we are more productive and happier at home. It's absurd to force people back into the office if their job doesn't require it.

I hope you are wrong. Unions have been losing strength for decades now. If unions quit siding with one political party they would be better off. By picking a side the unions have made themselves targets for the other party and lost the potential support of both parties.
Smart companies should start working to re-balance the pay across the company and quit being so top heavy with the pay.
The real production time wasters are the employees in the office.
T can no longer afford to allow a majority of employees to waste so many hours of nonproductive time.
Go telecommuters! We have fought long and hard for our right to telecommute. Companies are powerless to resist. It's a good thing that power has shifted from the companies to the workers. I want to work another fifteen years as a telecommuter, I cannot even envision returning to the office. Companies need to do themselves a favor and sell off their real estate. It's becoming absolutely worthless day by day.
I'd fire every one of them.
