Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

PIP for the year is coming

As we draw closer to the end of year, the dreaded HPD cycle will commence and with that, the identification of a person worthy of a PIP will be brought forward with a minimum of a small percentage of the entire workforce.
Forget about the comment made by MM during the last TH about no set quota of people being put on PIP. Its an outright lie and he knows it. Every individual working for Honeyhell will eventually be on PIP where only time will tell when yours will be.

I remember being in the 9 block distribution meetings with HR. They were forcing distributions to a curve in the meeting. You couldn’t push back.
At the end of the meeting they would look you in the eye with a straight face, and say “remember, we don’t have quota’s “.
You can’t make this stuff up.

The appropriate PIP response is to quit on the spot and walk out the door that day.

Honeywell can figure out what to do then. You no longer work there, it's not your problem anymore.

There is absolutely a quota system that gets pushed by HR. Several previous managers and even MD confirmed.

Everyone should have a preplanned PIP response.

Management and HR purposely blindsides you so your not prepared. It can happen to anyone at anytime.

That doesn't mean fight it or make a scene. It just means think about how you would respond if you are unexpectedly called into your managers office and told you are underperforming and no one likes working with you.

What would you say? Getting hostile does you no good in fact they may be counting on it.

Also, what will you say when they give you a set of impossible goals the CEO couldn't even achieve.

That's how it works. At least have a plan.

A few years ago I got my first PIP ever (in 39 years). I said to my boss, "I guess I'm part of the quota." He really hated me and basically told me that I was such a worthless engineer, that my PIP was outside of the quota. I said, "At least you just admitted that there is a quota!"

So very happy to be away from that hostile work place. Sorry for you guys who are still there.
