Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

2023 Health Benefits , it’s a mess

Just go the mailer regarding 2023 health benefits for management employees. They are totally screwing us…deductibles increase to $6000, con insurance increases….if you choose the low deductible plan per IRS rules you can it contribute to an HSA. They also take what was your HSA and contribute it to an after tax wellness plan which is of course treated as income. It’s total cr-p and entirely due to the complete mismanagement by Stephenson buying media companies and taking on massive debt. These new plans are an absolute joke.

Someone said: "The debt thing happened years ago. Stop blaming your erectile dysfunction on that."

The debt did indeed happen a while ago but if you have been paying attention Einstein you would know that interest rates are up. How do you suppose that affects debt service.

You will pay premium prices for 3rd world healthcare. The benefits offered at T suck. Stankey and Stephenson squandered all the equity and cash at T, employees pay the price. Give those ba----ds another bonus!

Why do we need HR and benefits management? At these rate hikes, hire a group of street smart teens to negotiate for better results.

In the mean time, we need to every to work hard to control cost and save cash. What a joke!

It sad when employees settle for inferior healthcare benefits. Stankey and Santone need to leave healthcare benefit alone. Every year they tweak the healthcare in their favor screwing the employees. Let them play with c-suite healthcare.

“My premium doubles for the same benefit level. but $25 up to $50. Not gonna go broke on that”.
Why is it so easy for you to be so happy with the continual erosion of your benefits? The in network out of pocket maximum is going up $500, out $900.
Besides that, offering coverage with zero out of network coverage (except emergency) is downright irresponsible. Some cash strapped folks will be tempted to take this, but it is unwise because if you end up in the hospital it is very likely you will run into out of network charges - and you will be %100 on the hook for them.

Bargained for employees are no better off than anyone else. Pre65 coverage is full cost for most

Lump sum is the only option now. Who wants to depend on a monthly check from ATT ?

$75 for a single person may be correct but many have families. I believe employee with child is $375 with a $6,000 deductible and $16k out of pocket max The new bronze plan. I know Stinkey wishes no one had families. Too many mouths to feed.

Nope, Classic S management.

“The Premedicare plans for retirees are now different from the employee plans and seem significantly worse…”

How predictable.

How many thousands of non bargained retirement eligible left before the end of last year just to keep this subsidized pre Medicare “insurance” …?

The old bait and switch.

The Premedicare plans for retirees are now different from the employee plans and seem significantly worse. Two of the three have no out of network coverage out if the ER. I guess if you are during in the hospital and a specialist sees you you need to contact the insurance company and see if they are in network. They don’t know. If they are not in network send them away. Interesting how stink uses the drop in healthcare coverage to get people to leave. Then changes it to lesson coverage after the fact.

AT&T is in no position to provide quality health care to anyone other than c-suite. Good luck using your 2023 plan, it will be inferior to most other company provided health care. The sad part is that you won't know how bad your healthcare insurance is until you use it.

that had me pretty mad until i read the mailing from att for myself.

HSA is still there.
the 1k att deposit to HSA is still there. (the amount for singles).

My premium doubles for the same benefit level. but $25 up to $50. Not gonna go broke on that.

I'm betting the castlight replacement is a pain to use. Potentially a greater benefit. Can earn up to $750 instead of $550. But must be used on health stuff. Under castlight i got an amazon gift certificate and bought whatever i wanted.

TLDR : put down the pitchforks and torches until you read it for yourself. And figure out how it affects you. Most of what OP was ranting about is fake news

Complete and utter rubbish.

At this point, non bargained for folks need to seriously have a look at the Marketplace and/ or private insurance companies.

Someone was on here the other day talking about how great the management healthcare options still were. Really ??!

Rather than rip on someone for their grammar. Tryunderstanding their point of view. I am sure you are fat and very opinionated.
