Verizon is the place where the right people fail up and the wrong people find that success means becoming a threat which means being laid off or fired. It makes little sense to anybody outside of the ELT but it explains the company's failing results in the past several years clearly.

VZ created a politically charged work environment which resulted in our most talented workers leaving or planning to move on soon. It’s sad.

When you bring in an CEO with a lengthy history of questionable ethical decisions, bribery accusations, etc, I'm not sure why anyone would expect success.

What is shocking is how much damage they have done. Legere and T Mobile knew because most / many of the top telecom players from Verizon and AT&T worked with or for him.

It definitely is a bias when you keep a person with talent down because they’re a threat to your insecurity. I’ve seen great thinkers and doers get rotten reviews by scared and threatened ignoramuses, people in positions they never should have risen too.
It's like this everywhere. Surprises me people think this isn't common. You elevate your network to cement your formal authority and diminish threats. It's nothing against the 'successful' people it's preventing someone else from usurping.
