Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Don't let Verizon use and abuse you

Too many people are used to giving it their all and receiving nothing in return. I keep seeing it daily. Men and women breaking their backs to finish the work of three or four people, and they don't even get a thank you in return, not to mention any monetary compensation. People need to stop doing this. As long as that's normalized, the company will continue to get away with cr-p like that. Do your job. Period. Break the cycle of use and abuse.

@2jqh+1iaIxY0b- what you're implying is that there should be equity in outcomes... not equal opportunity. Most of the time what someone is willing to do, or capable of doing, does not result in outrageous rewards. If you don't put the effort in, you don't get the reward. That is fair and appropriate.

need to rescind and claw back all of the awarded Verizon stock transferred to all of the c-suite for a poor performance job as reflected in the stock price. the reduction in the stock price is unacceptable. and need to send the top g-n packing with a one-way 1st class trip back to europe.

Salaried positions, will now be impacted by the reduced STI. I am a consummate professional, but still wanted to be rewarded. The effective stock incentive as of 3/1/2022 are worthless with the recent Verizon share price debacle.

Berkshire Hathaway, divested its entire position of Verizon stock.

Salary positions can push back on the workload. Your manager may kick and scream and it's gonna ki-l your chance for a promo or leading rating but you won't be fired if you produce at an average level. They can't afford market rate replacements from external hires and the internal talent pool of switchers has been drained dry.

Last 20 months, have had the workload of 3-4 people. Prior to that, it was ONLY 2+. Work comes in faster than it goes out. Harder I work, the farther I fall behind and all I get is "Why isn't X done yet?". Management in my area are totally clueless; we keep hiring more PMs because THAT will solve the problem. And the contractors, both Infy and others, are at best entry level. And that's being extremely kind.

That's really not an exaggeration either.. I don't know about other departments, but I'm in network and there isn't a one of us who doesn't do the work of 3-4 people.

If you are hourly, that is very good advice. Not sure how what salary positions can do to manage the additional workload.
