Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Employees who are safer

Everyone should be prepared. However, are there those who are perhaps more immune to layoffs than the majority of us?

I would bet Engine is at risk. Do you really think the company needs so much complexity? What do we have?

  1. 5L Sigma
  2. 5L Dragon
  3. 6L
  4. 6L Turbo
  5. 0L
  6. 0L Turbo
  7. 0L diesel
  8. 3L
  9. 5L
  10. 7L
  11. 0L
  12. 0L diesel
  13. 3L
  14. 5L
  15. 5L Turbo
  16. 7L
  17. 0L
  18. 2L
  19. 2L
  20. 7L diesel
  21. 3L

Maybe this is out of date, but it hardly matters. Complexity is totally out of control. If you work on this stuff, reductions are inevitable.

@1jgj+1iat1omE - the high tech/high demand program is to enable paying closer to market rates to bring hires in and nothing more than a carrot at the end of long stick for those already here. All it does is bump up the salary range, but if you're already in that range when brought into that program there isn't any increase of salary. And being eligible for to be nominated for stock grants meets di---e as well. My cynical view about it has been it was put in place to stem some of the departing tide who foolish think they'll be taking more home "eventually"

What are F&F hires?

F & F benchmarked India caste system resulting in Model e employees as the privileged class and Ford Blue employees as the outcasts.

Yeah, right. First of all, I bet Doug Field got here and thought: "What the hel#, this thing needs to get straightened out!" Also, how would you know that 'Doug Field looks out for his team'? What evidence do you have of that?

Given that Model e is going to provide the majority of Ford's future revenue and sales, we can say that Model e has the best chances of not being part of the rumored layoffs. Plus being in Model e myself, I know that Doug Field looks out for his team.

Global EE safe? What?

That's right in the belly of ICE and prob one of the first if not the first to be targeted.

False on the model e HTHD. Not everyone is incentivized like that. Only certain tech roles.

Model e. They are giving us HT HD status. Double raises and double bonuses. Same job the ICE guys but more pay for some reason. Maybe because we have more exciting recalls.

Not true, in the BDSM group you could just get whipped and humiliated. Getting fu---d is at the discretion of the master/mistress. They will deny u if they know u crave it.

At least in the BDSM group you know you’re going to be whipped, fu---d and humiliated.

The point of my sarcastic post was to stop with the acronyms. There are a lot of fiefdoms in Ford and we all don't know everyone's buzzword bingo acronyms. Just spell it out. How f'ing lazy are people anyway?

I've heard from others that former Global Engine Engineering should be relatively safe, mainly because they are understaffed after the last big round in April. Who knows though.

I don’t know about the F&F hires, but the BLT and the S&T’s that are in GWDS are safe. I saw a memo from someone in LGB. So it must be true.

I would think Manufacturing is safest. But who can say……

Relatively sure most F&F hires are the safest anyone can be. It’ll be Hunger Games-esque for everyone else.
