I have personally seen our management go way above and beyond to assist and take care of employees dealing with both personal and family members illnesses or unexpected tragedy. I am thankful to work with such people.

Ehap can be helpful for job stress or mild personal conflicts. Su----e is serious, for that you should see a psychiatrist using your health insurance. They will write you a dr release for a few weeks until your medication stabilizes. Su----e is medical issue. Ehap is just to help with an attitude adjustment. I'm sorry you were pip'd. Nevertheless, a doctors care is required in this case.

I used every possible resource available to me and was advised by EHAP that my mental state was such that it may interfere with my work responsibilities.

This is when I decided to oversee my options and spoke with HR and work superiors. I was fully transparent and they seemed to be particularly bothered with the idea of me acquiring a mental disability even though i had markings on my throat from my last attempt.

My college attending dependent called EHAP. IT IS A joke. They are not qualified and want to do anything but find true help that might cost money. To those above making fun of OP - you will see your day. Also - I went to a v counselor if my own choosing 6-7 years ago and he too said he has SO MANY clients from EM.

Not only does EM not care about your health (mental or otherwise), they are often a huge contributing factor to reasons why you are Ill.

I know someone who received treatments for anxiety and depression and the technician told them that by far, EM employees make up the bulk of their patients. His psychiatrist said it’s one of the most toxic places he has ever encountered.

I know someone who has worked hard to get the company to take work/life balance issues seriously. She finally gave up after being told she cannot work from home one day a week. She wanted an accommodation so she could take her a sui-idal daughter to a weekly therapy appointment. Meanwhile, her supervisor works from home at least twice a week.

Frankly, EHAP is a joke - especially if it involves issues from working at EM. Even if it was helpful, how effective can any treatment be when you remain in a dysfunctional and toxic environment? It’s like treating someone for burns, knowing that patient must walk through fire everyday at work. No treatment will be sufficient as long as they are in a toxic environment.

EHAP is a joke. My wife was sui-idal and they were zero help. I have tremendous sympathy for anyone going through a mental health crisis. It is very hard to find any help. Luckily my supervisor was awesome and he told me not to worry about work.

So, the lakes and nice views in spring campus aren't enough?

OP. EM has EHAP for personnel struggling with personal and/or mental health problems. It is effective and has been used by people I know to get better. In some cases they will work with other mental health professionals. If a medical (psychiatrist) or other health professional (psychologist) deems that you are unfit for work, then MOH will remove you from duty.

OP if you did not know about that, then your supervisor should have recommended that you contact EHAP. If you did and did not make use of it, then how do you expect any kind of help? Not trying to "victim blame" but you ARE part of the equation.

With regards to "I had a mortgage and other financial responsibilities", yes, most of the working world does. Live within your means, make sure you have 6 months of salary in your savings, and if you are the sole breadwinner in your house, it's even more important to save and live within your means.

There are no guarantees in life or with any employer.

That's how they do it. You aren't really part of the ExxonMobil Family if you have a weakness or disability, only if you have an obvious physical disability like wheelchair bound so everyone can fawn over you. You were kicked to the curb for being human and transparent. Sounds like you were part of a dysfunctional "family".

Sounds like they offered options and you refused. What the he-l did you expect them to do? Let you go home cause you don’t feel good and just keep paying you? You sound pretty entitled and as a shareholder in glad you’re gone.

Never talk to EM HR about anything. HR is not there to help you. Good luck with your new job.
