Ford has absolutely destroyed it’s relationship and trust with its North American salaried workforce.
But keep focused and working hard and we will let you know when you’re fired.

You know... If I knew the SRD schedule would be good, I would raise my hand for this in a second. I think a big piece of the reason they don't offer a decent voluntary is because they would get their 8000 + another 8000 on top of that. And if that weren't enough, they would probably get another 8000 on top of the 8000 on top of the other 8000.
If you're like me and absolutely dread turning the machine on every day, I can't imagine what it will be like post cuts, if I am to survive. There are so many of us not retirement eligible but who would on the same token leave in a second with decent pay me to go away money, pension or no pension. Strong performers can and will get jobs at other companies no problem, especially in this market. We know our skills and are very confident in them. Also, this is going to go on for at least a few more years so be prepared to read (and write) these types of threads every 9-12 mos for the foreseeable future. Offer a decent SRD payout and I'll GLADLY raise my hand for the involuntary! Why do I want to continue to be loyal to an organization that hates me?
You'll hear if/when you're shown the door. I haven't looked but I wonder how many jobs are posted in other countries for Ford right now. Almost think they're probably staffing up these areas and getting them up to speed before axing people.
Ford sees it’s NA workforce as too expensive and in the way of their global aims. Workforce replacement with cheaper labor.
Anyone with half a brain can figure this out. Bloomberg published an article about pending cuts. Next day JF talks in watching that video early in the am you can tell he was not prepared to talk about it. fast forward to the TH. Both BF & JF came right out and stated cuts will happen. What they are not telling the troops like the old days is when they will happen? If you were around in the 2000s Mark Fields gave ample warning about cuts. Months in advance.
Second trust. when you hear we have too many people but at the same time they continue to staff Mexico and keep Brazil open in simple English we make too much.
It is hard to understand the contempt that Ford must feel for its own employees while treating them with such disrespect.
Ford has a vast and talented workforce. So sad to witness how the company has ruined their relationship with those fine folks.

You think Quality is bad now. Wait a few years, employees now don't care and Quality, Costs, etc. will suffer greatly. Thanks to Ford's great leadership.
