Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Xombie

Anyone else feel like this?

Wake up.
Hauled into the office to appease middle managers purely to sit in front of Excel and PowerPoint all day (with minimal collaboration).
Subject to endless LPS drivel and cringeworthy safety sharings.
No stimulating work.

Just sitting around in order to earn the next pay cheque.

I agree. I am still WFH. Sc--w this place! Got a supervisor who doesn't care so why should I. Remember, at this company, what you do or don't do doesn't matter.

@OP Scroll down to the “Office Fetish” thread for some commentary on this.

One reason why everyone is being dragged back to the office is because many bosses have holdings in commercial real estate. There’s also a generational/control element to it.

And no, driving to the office everyday doesn’t protect your job, especially in O&G, so stop saying that it does.

Those who post berating people expressing negativity don’t understand the point of this forum. You should focus on doing your EM work instead of trolling these folks.

The worst part for me is being told how critical it is for me to be part of the team and how crucial it is that I work in the office & not WFH only to arrive on most days to an empty office because everyone else is working from home.

It seems like I’m my group, it’s crucial I warm my seat and turn on the lights. Everyone else is free to WFH.

I swear I am getting tired of the lies & double standards. Id quit tomorrow, but I am waiting for my house to sell my house. I don’t even have another job lined up, but I’d rather quit, live off my savings and recover before getting another job. I’m exhausted.

If you have an Exxon-centric job is perhaps the case, what saves others is the interaction with the external world or external providers. A purely internal job is sui-idal in this Company

That’s how I was. Would sit on my desk and do sh-t. At home I’d take laptop with me to my bed and binge Netflix.
Left a month ago. Life is good again after ExxonMobil!!

But something must keep you coming back. What is it? Why not just leave? God, the constant complaining in this forum is insufferable and changes NOTHING. No wonder EM’s performance is slipping with this lot of employees working there.

Do what I’m doing. Get very unfairly ranked NSI, take the PIL and walk away smiling.

All of the above... Except I don't bother with the illusion of going into the office. I can do all that from home. That's the only upside.
