Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Exxodus

The brain drain that I have witnessed in the last three years is inconceivable. It is hard to see the company surviving another decade with such loss of talent. If oil prices go back to the 40s and stay there for 3 years xom will be sold for a few dollars per share.

We are well in track to fail due to lack of experienced people. Headcount numbers hide the more brutal truth of just how much knowledge has been lost. I fear for the future of ExxonMobil.

Hopefully asset sales go through so we can cut another 15,000 employees over next 3 years.

Yeah buddy, you’re going to do everything a company needs to do with an “army of company drones”.
Somehow, none of the other majors are doing this - maybe they couldn’t afford to pay the genius consultants that effectively run EM.
This company is running straight into the ground in the next major downturn. Not only it is run by parasites, but by blind parasites.

Exxon will keep drilling dry holes outside of Guyana because they laid off all the rock sniffers. Only the politicians there are left in geotech. Technical work was outsourced to inexperienced Indians. They took a group with several decades of institutional and personal knowledge and trivialized it down to IT support.

Not excited about LCS. Incompetent, know-nothing, sleazy individuals.

I hope LCS succeeds because EM cannot find oil outside of Guyana.

EM keeps throwing Billions away in Brazil drilling dusters within sight of others that hit gushers.

Too bad that recently ranking was based on impact and all those high fliers on LCS made ZERO impact during the ranking period. If all LCS are not NI or NSI this past rank period, that is proof the rules as published have been broken.

Annandale is bloated with a bunch of do nothings. Just look at PA wing. Golden parachute to the one who won't be named. So much talent has been lost, yet they bring in contractors that's literally do nothing. One was even caught in a dark lab on his cell phone. But DO' enjoys how he performs when he is on his knees.
The place is a joke anymore. I just keep doing less and less. No raise for 5 years, F them.

Personally, I think XOM the financial entity is decently positioned to thrive in the new energy economy. A few thousand managers running an army of contractor drones is depressing but not a terrible business model.

As far as XOM the place to actually work? It is only going to get worse.

Not just losing old fat. Losing large number of young talent. Shocking the scale of loss.

Groups that have never lost 2 people in 10 year period now lose 10 people in 2 year period.

PIP is destroying morale. Employees feel like they are on 1 year contract with annual layoff causing daily worry.

PowerPoint skills valued over professional knowledge and people skills.

Need to focus on production and getting projects completed and stop waving flags about collaboration, PowerPoint, and Sharepoint.

Our section has many more contractors than employees. 'Managed' decline.

We can't even get that right. Seeing multiple former "advisors" come back as annuitant contractors. Even more washed up and out of date than before and just as expensive.

Lot of advisor fat leaving so not all bad. XOM was over staffed from 2007-2021
