It's not safe, the higher your salary and the less experience you have the higher the risk for layoffs.

People are still leaving for FAANG. $160k + bonus. It is more hours than Ford. More cutthroat.

The only people safe are the ones they rushed to give stock options to with a 3 year vesting period starting back in May (GSR/LL6 levels). Probably most were already HTHD in model e, but maybe not all.

Anyone here saying HTHD is not a safe position to be in is wrong. Ford's transformational future will depend on expertise in the digital and data space, which is exactly what HTHD entails. I am happy to be in this classification at Ford in Model e under Doug Field's watch.

Granted, I will agree nothing is guaranteed. But being HTHD in Model e is your absolute best chance to still be working at Ford if these alleged layoff rumors have any truth to them.

HTHD is from a different era/stage/phase on our economy. They came up with HTHD when too many people were leaving for better jobs. The economy is now in a down turn. So that is over.

No one is safe. Our department lost an agency IT employee who had 9 years in our department. Lots of knowledge, out the door. Great guy.

HTHD = High Tech High Demand

@yer+1ig8aUW5 is correct. HTHD meant nothing in April. Many of those that were let go were HTHD.

These cuts are not about performance. They are not about skill. They are not about value. Or hard work. Or anything that usually matters. This is LL4s+ looking at their teams, being told they have to trim X% budget, and then making decisions in a vacuum based on only numbers. This is what happened in April. Also, LL4s used it as an excuse to cut anyone that they didn't like, or that had crossed them in the past. The fact of the matter is that no one is safe.

it's like high talent high demand or something; think battery engineers, software developers, etc.

HTHD is as safe as Body Engineering, Engine and Trans engineers of 2008. So is it a now-or-later?
