@6rgh+1igPr5H9 - fake news. not true at all. Not interested in hearsay, just actual facts based on your own real (recent) experience.
"I heard..." geesh, that and a buck will buy you, well, nothing.
I’ve heard stories. Employee kidnapping, my understanding is they stopped sending people years ago.
As in any other major city, depending on where you go - there are good and bad neighborhoods. If you remain in the business district, close to the office, you'll be fine. Just take common sense precautions.
I'd take Brazil over boring, lame, and "safe" azz Charlotte
Sorry they speak Portuguese in Brazil not Spanish.
Rio. Just like NYC except you will be the clueless foreigner wandering around and someone else will be yelling "Hey! I'm waling here". In Spanish.
Not been to our offices there, but been to Brazil as a tourist many times. Most places ok, but cities are cities. Keep your wits about you, be on alert at all times, and stay out of the "bad" areas.
That said, Rio and Sao Paulo are particularly rough (esp. Rio) compared to many other major cities around the world.
Don't wear anything shiny - even if it's fake - they will not know that. Read Tripadvisor and other travel sites for the latest experiences and observations.
You have to stay out of the red light district! Lol
When I went to Brazil in 2005 (Rio de Janeiro), I got mugged in less than 24 hours.
