Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Suggestion: 5000 managers and VPs

Layoff 5000 managers and VPs and flatten org. Do this proactively before it is too late and you are forced to do it

Intel and the US government are becoming more and more alike everyday.

Let’s stop pretending Intel is a tech company or a fab. It is not. It is a welfare service for corrupt third worlders. The primary goal of Intel now is to be sucked dry by nepotists and their wives and cousins.

Only 5,000? I'm thinking 25,000 worldwide and that's still a drop in the bucket.

Sadly this was all foreseeable. There was a high level debate on personal computers versus smartphones. Miniaturization was one of the megatrends so why won't form factors follow the trend. Another debate was on average selling price versus volume and the next person was saying economies of scale. Id--ts were running the place.

All of this talk about layoff this or that and fire
Middle management.

It doesn’t matter.
None of it does.

Intel’s business model is broken from the simple fact that processor revenue cannot sustain leading edge fabs any longer.

Intel does not have economy of scale to compete with TSMC. Period.

They missed the mobile phone megatrend and all the kings horses and all the kings men can’t put Intel back together again.

Once you lose scale, you’re done. Just look at all of the players that threw in the towel on fabs. It’s always been due to a loss of scale.
