Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Anyone brave enough to email Jim directly?

It's been 4 weeks since Jim Farley did his little video message saying it is 'unfortunate' that the media is speculating about layoffs at Ford. In the next breath, he confirmed that there will be layoffs at Ford. He acknowledged the stress this is creating for us and our families, and has since done NOTHING to ease that stress. No demonstration of 'Care for Each Other'. Just complete radio silence. This is really quite horrible and frankly embarrassing. I've long been a proud Ford employee, but I'm so tired of having to tell the people that actually care about me that 'we still don't know anything' after it's been out there FOR A MONTH. I know we'd all love to hear his true response if asked about it.

All that being said, I don't have the nerve to send the note myself. Anyone else?

@ vur+1iiGbZcE “religious exemptions”? You mean the bullsh!t excuse you concocted, because no religious book exempts you from that which you tried to claim?

If I get sh!tcanned, I have a long and we’ll-thought-through email at the ready. Will he read it? 50/50 shot. But I’ll at least have unburdened myself. And I might post it to LinkedIn for good measure.

IDK why some people are fretting about the silence. Breath! The managers taking their sweet time to lay off people is a GOOD thing. Now we all have more time to prepare for the worst, whatever it is the worst each of us fear individually.

Take it easy at work and polish your resume. It doesn't matter if you get laid off or not, you'll need it. I am guessing a lot of employees are going to realize that staying to pick up the additional workload is not going to be nice, and some will end leaving the company anyway (especially the employees with no pension).

If you were a Hollywood type or your name was Elon you'd get a response. He's got no time for the peasants within the company

You'd be more likely to get his attention via twitter than email.

I'm not surprised at all about the radio silence. Ford made us wait more than 4 months to accept our religious exemption request. FOUR months while the politics played out on TV not knowing if I'll have a job. Ba----ds.

I did that already and his gardener responded. He said the layoffs are planned for October. Now get back to work!

Why bother emailing him? Odds are he reads the posts here. And if he doesn't, gosh help us.... he's even more out of touch than I thought.

Good golly. Don’t email him or you will be selected for the lay off.

I am sure plenty have. And he likely just told his admin to delete them. No need to bother with drivel from peons.

I think you should send an IM from your co-workers computer when they go to the bathroom.

I bet someone already did, so he changed his mind about the layoffs. That explains why it's been so quiet.
