Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Torrance Site Closure Planned

I’ve heard directly from HR reps and verified from engineering recruiters that Torrance is consolidating its site location to Phx and Tempe. Lots of early retirements. Closure planned for early 2024.

HW Torrance Management is awful. Ppl saying 2024 it’s more like 2044

This 100% accurate. Have seen it happen to a group and only 3 out of about 10 took them up on it. HWell was disappointed. And the product coming out of that group lately is complete garbage and they have no customers to speak of. Certainly no repeat customers.

That’s a nice way of having layoffs without it being a layoff.

Yes it is planned. They just can’t get Mexicali ramped up fast enough. ITAR stuff to Phoenix. In true Honeywell fashion, they close and tell employees “your job just moved, move with it or you are considered quitting so we don’t have to pay unemployment”

Decades of terrible management ruined a great location. I’ll keep an ear out to make sure no managers come to where I work.

Except for the massive infrastructure and environmental cleanup to rehabilitate the site.
Not a surprise if it does happen.

Shouldn't be too much of a surprise. Transition to Mexicali, for what they can move there, is already underway.
