I didn't even realize how much working at EM has been affecting my health. Since I left, I stopped having high blood pressure episodes due to the crazy workload with not enough resources to get it done. I also don't stress all the time over possibly being put on PIP, which was severely affecting my mental health. I honestly forgot what it's like to work for a normal company with a normal culture. I'm not paid as well, but it's worth it.

Big Facts….I left recently and I am so much happier. I engage in activities with family and friends and do not feel so drained after work. My mental health is so much better my therapist was proud of me for quitting. If anyone is thinking of leaving do it. Exxon is by far the most toxic work place amongst 3 companies I’ve worked and I didn’t realize just how bad it was until I left.
hey, totally with you. left just 4 months ago.
I don't even need v!agra anymore.
I know of no one who has left EM in the last few years (whether retiring, quitting, or by firing) who isn’t happier, healthier, and better off in general. There is no way to fully appreciate how toxic the environment is until you are out of the situation and able to gain clarity.
I swear, every time they send out a Culture of Health or Rally email about managing stress and work/life balance, I want to throw my computer. It’s one thing to insist on promoting toxic policies, it’s another to attempt to gaslight us about the situation.
EM keeps psychologists, cardiologists, and psychiatrists in practice.
XOM preaches safety 24/7 but ignores the poisonous effects the ranking system inflicts on the body and mind. If high blood pressure and mental health deterioration were OSHA recordable/reportable events, things would change rapidly.
Congratulations!
