In the Cloud, Legacy’s Revenge: Oracle, SAP, IBM Thrive in Hot New Category

I believe these successes will drive IBM to
continue making it easier for customers to
gain value by working with (a) its great
technology and its ability to seamlessly span
on-premises and the cloud and (b) its deep
industry expertise resident within IBM
Consulting, setting the stage for significant
growth with industry cloud solutions.

A bit too bullish one might say.

Yeah... IBM is no longer a leader in anything but Mainframe which has no competition.
This is when it comes to competition that IBM struggles...

IBM is not shutting its cloud, but rather IBM is partnering its cloud. IBM tried to partner with Google, but google refused to deploy IBM SW easily on its cloud. Amazon has since filled that void which IBM publicly announced in May.

You are correct IBM is exiting cloud, but it will happen much faster than 5 years. IBM can make far more via remarketing Amazon cloud vs standing their own up as Amazon is just too far ahead.

IBM is in the process of shutting its Cloud. It will take another 5 years, but it will eventually get there. IBM thinks it is cheaper to implement the IBM software on AWS, Azure, etc…

This site is IBM RA and how IBM descriminates employees that are over 40.
On the other hand IBM cloud is very primitive if you compare to AWS, MS and Google.
