Does hiring freeze include matching offers ?

Hi,
I have an offer from an external company that if Dell were to match it, I would be willing to stay. (Have seen loads of times over the years this happening). However, I have heard that due to the external hiring freeze this is also not permitted and there is no offer can be made.

Anyone know if this is the case?

Depends on the employee. If you produce and are recognized as key to your business area, I've seen management at Dell get raises approved many times to retain the right individual.

Walk. You will end up finding out that not all businesses are toxic and actually remember they have humans working for them. Besides, an amicable divorce is better than one that gets nasty because you stayed too long.

I don’t know the answer to your question.

I can confirm though that Dell definitely do make counter offers. Whether they will do it during a hiring freeze though, I would be sceptical and say they probably wouldn’t….ultimately they are trying to get rid of employees
