Farley made $22.81 million last year. That equates to about 253 people that wouldn't have had to be shown the door even at a pretty generous $90k salary for each of those 253. White collar workers need a union, and no, not a garbage corrupt union that is in bed with the company like the UAW. No reason big Jim should be making 253 times what we make and then talking about how "we can't afford all these people."

FTE's come out closer to $200k to a quarter mil annually than $90k. Benefits, unemployment insurance, SSI, and other employer side taxes add up in a hurry, plus the costs of HR/facilities/etc too.
That being said, we/Ford still shouldn't be paying "CarCar" the obscene compensation he gets. It's too bad the compensation is about "the position" being important and not about the person in it actually doing a great job and providing that much economic benefit.
"We"? It will be an eye opener for you when you find out you are not part of "We."
Ford still has operations in Germany, a high cost country, only because German laws and work groups protect salaried workers.
I was a contract employee and cost probably $220k loaded. Your $90k number is a big underestimate of peoples compensation and loaded cost.
Comparisons like this miss the point. The point is to reduce the payroll permanently, not justify keeping people by offsetting the salary. Running a company means making difficult decisions. Today is one of them. If we never cut people we would be out of business by now.
Hurts.. but true.
Reducing exorbitant management pay reduces the payroll permanently too.
@rhq+1il2XxS2 I think you miss the point. Most of the people let go are the hard working, knowledgeable people we need. However, They decide to keep the brown nosed yes men slackers.

Reality is, we can’t afford Farley and the entire Ford family.
