Thread regarding Ford layoffs

What if you burn some more years of your life learning nothing?

Be happy that you got cut now. The sooner in your career the better it is?

@OP. If you are let go at the beginning of your career, you can recover very fast. Not so much when you are in the range for age discrimination.

I worked for many companies before landing a job at FMC. I was not going to stay long here, but at one point I thought about retiring in this company. Of course, in the SRD of 2019 I knew that wasn't the case. I am not expecting to last much longer here, but every day I work, it is another contribution to my retirement.

Getting laid off from Ford is the best thing that can happen to a Ford employee. It may not feel like it now, but when you look back on this you will most likely agree. I was let go almost 15 years ago and now my career, life experiences and net worth are far greater than they would be had I stayed. Even if I had made it to now with my lower quality of life, I probably would be getting fired today. Ford is a third rate company on its best day!
