How exactly are they supposed to continue functioning? Will those who stayed be expected to pick up all the extra work themselves?

Uh, hello.... The work is going outside of the US.
1, of you think there are no next gen ICE vehicles in the pipeline, you need to see a mental health professional.
2, lots of people got cut in Model e yesterday. Had nothing to do with ICE.
I know of a group that lost an LL4, LL5, and LL6. Along with some GSRs.
So it’s funny (we’ll not funny but whatever) we lost 1 head in April out of a group of 8. Shuffled some stuff around and I ended up with a cr-p load of more work. Got fired today and I’m thinking how in the heck are they going to spread my work over the remaining folks? Now I’m starting to think I am actually one of the lucky ones!!!
@1cru My understanding is that these cuts were determined at the LL2 level. LL4 and below are currently trying to figure out how to reorg their departments with the remaining pieces to still deliver.
The next couple months is going to be a sh-t show.
When are they rolling out what work is being cut. We’re already strapped from the last series of cuts enough so quality concerns couldn’t be fully worked. These are cuts from an area that is not ICE or EV specific. No idea how they think this will work.
The teams will continue functioning when the work is resurrected in Brazil. If you are the only one left, you will soon be training your replacement.
This BS about having too much work to do is just trolls trying to rile the young workforce. You do the best you can and if that's good enough, then move on.
This happened to my team in April during the layoffs. Team of 6 went down to a team of 2. Me and the other split the work of 6 people until we were able to get replacements with no compensation.
I have no information on my teammates(2) being let go until I tried to respond to emails (id no longer exists). Unfortunately, we are the only three resources in this group that perform these specific duties.
All of a sudden, I’m seeing a ton of tasks redirected to me in addition to the work that I already have on my plate. Everything is a high priority task that needs to be done in the same day.
I have felt that I was underpaid even when I shared my work with the other two. I feel like I’m writing a complex code to flip a virtual burger and am paid as much as flipping a real one.
Don’t sign anything. See an employment lawyer first.
Team up with other coworkers that were terminated.
There’s strength in numbers!
Stay strong!
where is extra work when next gen ICE vehicles are not in the pipe line?
