Thread regarding Ford layoffs

RTO is coming!

That's right, RTO is coming. As they continue to cut heads, they will get down to a number where there will be plenty of office space. And then it will be "get your butts into the office at least 3 days a week". Or you're next.

All you have to do is look at what Elon is doing to know what the JimBill show will do. At this point it is embarrassing.

This post is obviously from someone who's salty that he/she is not working from home. My opinion on this is that if your team can maintain the same output and quality while working remotely, there is no point to RTO.

I’m never going back. Never. I get so much more done at home and the amount of money I save on gas and food is huge. My travel time is 1.5 hours a day. I’m not stressed out from the traffic when my day begins. Nope. Never.

Even after the cuts there are not enough desks at pdc to support a return to office.

I would imagine it is easier to layoff people when they are working from home. Update offices without people in the way. Sell off buildings no longer needed. Now is a good time to bring workers back into the office!

When the execs dump their homes on the west coast and move to Dearborn, then maybe I'll report to work. But, if they are not in the office, I'm not in the office.

I don't have data. But ford management is clearly copying Tesla so RTO is coming.

I've been at work since it was legally allowed again summer 2020. It's fine, get over it

Doubt it. Have you been at pdc lately? Its a dump, inside and out. AEC seems nice though and the parking garages are nice. Everything else....dump. And the entire grounds are still a mess and a long way from being regularly habitable.

September there will be more announcements for return to office. They are suddenly pumping in more office equipment and getting things ready.

Yup. Heard that September will be mandate for back in office 3 days a week.
Waste of time and loss of efficiency for many.

Source or announcement? I can see a hybrid work environment but not 100% onsite.
