Thread regarding Ford layoffs

In an Internal meeting ..

A senior colleague who tracks and manage internal issues etc. asked where the “guy” is as it was his turn to share the status of the work, then he realized he isn’t in the meeting and then this senior colleague said “He must be on vacation today” .

My LL6 even though being in the same meeting did not even say a word to inform the team that the guy was laid off yesterday.

There is no empathy nor any transparency about what happened. I was appalled at this act.

PS: I knew he was laid off as I was trying to send an email to him in the morning and it showed me an error!

One of team mates still working shared this today: One of the higher up asked my (former) LL6 "let us know how many more heads you need for next year to meet these goals" !!!

When GM did the layoffs in 2019, our EGMs had no clue until the next day when our coworkers informed him bc we saw it happen with our own eyes. When contractors were let go broadly during Thanksgiving break, we had no notice or anything

My brother, who is an LL6, was informed of the cuts in his section only after the employees were separated. He did not know anything about the cuts.

In my dept, I understand that the LL5 handed out the news and instructed the employees to inform their LL6. I’d be surprised that the LL6s were not informed prior to the call being made. More bush league sh*t.

Yes, same in FCSD. Two weeks ago when they did layoffs I was instructed “not to tell anyone or share info about specific individuals were gone”. Like WTH??

Going to be a scramble as they just booted people with no consideration that they may be working on something important. Know some folks in IT and ones they were working with who were managing very specific tasks were let go. Unclear who handles what at this point because no one knows who will take over duties
