A senior colleague who tracks and manage internal issues etc. asked where the “guy” is as it was his turn to share the status of the work, then he realized he isn’t in the meeting and then this senior colleague said “He must be on vacation today” .
My LL6 even though being in the same meeting did not even say a word to inform the team that the guy was laid off yesterday.
There is no empathy nor any transparency about what happened. I was appalled at this act.
PS: I knew he was laid off as I was trying to send an email to him in the morning and it showed me an error!
