Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

The real problem isn’t layoffs, it’s the lack of layoffs

The real problem isn’t layoffs. It’s low morale. All of us are way overworked and well aware that we were more productive working from home, saving time and money on commutes. Management doesn’t trust us and HR provides no real way to assess our performance except for some operations jobs.

In reading these threads, the anger is always towards inept managers, primitive technology and bizarre directives from out of touch leaders. It is ridiculous to commute to an office when the entire team is spread across the world. It wastes 2 hours a day commuting.

Layoffs themselves have been virtually nonexistent.

When people rail against layoffs they’re really railing against our culture, out of touch management and absurdly dated systems. The one commonality that virtually all of us share is that we are hoping for a layoff.

I know dozens who have been laid off the last few years. It's all top secret and never announced so you probably missed it.

When your workload is such that you must put in 12+ hours a day just to keep up, what do "work hours" mean anyway?

Besides, people from different time zones post here. It's a global workforce, which you should know as a shareholder.

Funny, I keep hearing all of you complain that you're overworked but it doesn't seem to stop the bulk of the people from posting during work hours. Why is that ??? And before you say anything, I'm a shareholder not an employee so I'm deeply concerned that you all have more time to complain than get your work done. I assume you're being required back in the office so you aren't trolling the internet, playing Youtube video's, or on facebook!

Back to work!!! Get that share price back up to the $60's like it was at the beginning of the year.
