Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Thursday and Friday

There shouldn't be any cuts in the next two days? It was said that everything will be done Monday through Wednesday, so the next two days should be OK, right?

According to the ford authority cuts are global. The world is in a global recession and moving toward something worse. These cuts are fluff because no one knows where all this is heading.
Why is our government not concerned about jobs being available for americans???
Why is china fleecing the usa under this administrations watch. This site is about layoffs and i am sorry for all the stress this places on you and your family but this government could create an environment that increases jobs and pay.

This particular round is done except for people who were on vacation/ ooo.
Then they will probably see how many leave through attrition for the remainder of the year.
Then the next round early-to-mid next year to get the remainder.

With the expected reduction in lump sums in Q4 due to interest rates, I think some 30-yr people will decide to go before that happens rather than risk getting cut next year when their lump sum is 20-25% less.

Oh . . . There will be no 'all clear' for some time a-s the Wheel of Termination turns slowly these days. I think there's another 3 BILLON in cuts to be made by Q1 2023 so that's some pretty tough math to digest. Unless we start making money hand-over-fist and get to 0 recalls next week I'd say we're about F'd !

I could tell my supervisor was biting the sides of his cheeks trying not to laugh as he delivered the message to me. Disgusting.

I heard smaller ones remain for people who were out of the office through the week and possibly next week yesterday. But who knows, I'm also interested to see what the reassignments will be. This has all been handled in such a stupid manner.

If, cuts were warranted, there should have been a company wide meeting like yesterday, then functional departments/areas, then break out to discuss reassignments. Cascade down who is doing what. I've already seen some reassignments happening so it was obviously planned for some time now, I don't understand why they're sitting on their hands instead of just clearly sending a message so everyone know where the stand, what areas were impacted, and what people's positions are post cuts. It's truly amazing how disjointed this week has been.

That was NOT an all clear message. Shaping our business and leaning it out, removing waste....this is long from being done!

The video sent out from JF about an hour ago doesn't say that it's all clear. It implies that they will still be letting go people through the week.

Go to Ford Authority website and search job cuts... it's not over by a long shot... it's NEVER over...https://fordauthority.com/?s=job+cuts
