Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Going the extra mile doesn't bring rewards

I have seen many people who did not deserve to be promoted, but they still got a promotion. However, when the person I know is the biggest slacker of all got a promotion, I decided to give up. What is interesting is that although almost everyone knows that going the extra mile won't be rewarded, many people still work till exhaustion. Why?

Intel managers only promote employees who look like them, talk like them and most of all agree with them.
The incompetent HR doesn't train out these human biases from the managers. Literally, a car full of clowns could do a better job than Intel HR.
Then these managers get a constant round of layoffs to constantly ingrain their biases. While HR just becomes a bystander to the whole process.

I agree, two years attempting the EE, then gave up, that's why I think ridiculous that the CEO asks for us to give an extra an be "torrid".
Just gonna wait for the next ACT and hopefully get severance package, regardless I already have savings and almost no debt.

I have also given up. Working the absolute minimum now. Trying to learn somthing which helps me to get out of this.
Only brown nosers get promoted to Principle Engineers. SW directors and senior directors have no fu**** clue about SW. It is scary. Intel will fail big, I think.
Most people are just working to cover their a-s. Intel in large parts is brain dead.

Intel is like a clogged toilet fill of sh-t. No matter whatever effort you put in you will get sh-t. The managers here understand that. So they don't go the extra mile. They simply pass the buck around.

Everyone knows that Intel managers are hiring and promoting their friends and family. They build empires so they can milk Intel dry like the US government. Did you think everyone was joking ?
