Thread regarding Ford layoffs

We're done for this round

This particular round is done except for people who were on vacation/ ooo.
Then they will probably see how many leave through attrition for the remainder of the year.
Then the next round early-to-mid next year to get the remainder.

With the expected reduction in lump sums in Q4 due to interest rates, I think some 30-yr people will decide to go before that happens rather than risk getting cut next year when their lump sum is 20-25% less.

Reposting into a thread from @mpv+1inCwGLF because I think he/she is right.

Perhaps Michigan needs to pass legislation to prevent automakers from getting state funds under false pretenses (like not disclosing planned job cuts or plant closings). There is a Federal False Claims Act (FCA) and a Michigan false claims act to address Medicaid fraud.

Under the federal False Claims Act, any person or entity that knowingly submits a false or fraudulent claim for payment of United States Government funds, or knowingly retains an overpayment of such funds more than 60 days, is liable for significant penalties and fines.

Ford pocketed $101M of state money in June. They didn't mention they were planning to cut 3000 jobs, which was obviously being planned at that time.
