Since everyone seems to think today is a big layoff day has anyone got a confidential meeting request yet ?

I spoke about this in another thread. There is a growing push to meet unrealistic demands. They want the majority of apps automated and users in the cloud in 2 years. It doesn't matter to them if it's not possible to migrate legacy apps - you'll do it or they will fire most of the team and spin up a team of devs that will make a cloud based alternative. It is one of the reason they are pushing so hard to standardize all development tools. It doesn't matter if you cant get 75% of our userbase working will all of their apps in the cloud in 2 years. They will gut the department and hire people who will drive for the outcome they want. If you are seen as dragging your feet or creating an obstacle - even if it is a reasonable way of thinking, or a valid issue - you're on the way out.
Funny how the comments that do not use a name but explain the CLT layoffs are because the person who runs it is all about doing what their told, no matter the outcome, keep disappearing.
I guess she’s not just the top guy’s favorite. Lol
In and by mid October, you will see the layoffs
I was laid off last year in August also
The code review team used automated tools, but you need a person to interpret the tool results. I guess not since they were all let go earlier this year.
Agile and 3DA were both affected. They had been shoving both down our throats for the past 4 years, more recently 3DA and now that's out the window. They wonder why we have no confidence in leadership. Recession concerns have been around since the beginning of the year. Mortgage originations fell off a cliff in February. You can't tell me it took this long to adjust.
India isnt affected, rather they are moving our positions over there.
Mixed feelings for me.
got my wish and got tossed, as happy as I am to be out of that poisonous environment, I am going to miss the PTO afforded to me and worry about outliving my money.
Yeah, yeah, first world problems.................
In tech and I was affected today. It is a relief. I will relax and start looking for a new job soon. I won't miss the job, but I will miss my friends. Good luck to everyone out there going through this.
They said they were getting rid of manual testers a year ago, finally happened. Their big push is for automated testing to replace manual testing, thing is, you can't. An 'automated' test is just a program that itself need to be tested. They 'automate' testing by having jobs run thru a series of batch and CICS jobs to see if they abend - big deal. Such a test would only have validity if they ran a baseline test, followed by a test of the changed runs, and then ran a comparison test of the output files. I wrote Attachmate programs by myself to automate a keypunch department 30 years ago. Their 'automated' testers cannot even write the Java script tests, they just run them... manually.
@hnb. So their is no quality in CLT now. Explains a lot.
On PTO today, any idea which journeys in CLT lost SM's today?
Appears to be some of the quality control group & managers in consumer lending mortgage
Consumer Lending Underwriting
We lost our most beloved Scrum Master today. His boss I guess did not know the impact he was making for the Product Areas in Home Lending. Very sad and very unfortunate.
I would like to nominate this person for CEO as his mastery of efficiency and process in mind-blowing!
@hiv. That’s what happens when you bring in failed Chase leadership. More failure in your company also!
Heh, tech WAS affected.
Me!
@bjh. CLT was a shambles already because of their last layoffs that made no sense and left them a shambles since no one left knew the business or how to test code efficiently. I guess they wanted to destroy the rest of it.
Today there were layoffs in merchant services
@rqx lol
Got my notice at 9 am. tech in home mortgage
Don’t think tech control is in this round .
Was anyone offshore displaced?
Layoffs in Property Management happened this morning
Updating my last comment, rumor has been verified as fact. Two managers within my department were let go this morning in mortgage account resolution.
I find it laughable that people pushed into agile were laid off. Proves there is no plan and no sense from upper management.
Rumors are a couple of managers were let go in Account Resolution for mortgage and HEQ this morning. No official word.
120 in consumer lending tech
Layoffs are happening in Consumer lending.
One in tech control (so far)
My scrum master also got laid off today.
Scrum master in my team go let go today. I wonder if that group is the target?
There are definitely layoffs today in Consumer Lending Tech, unclear how many.
8:30 has passed in CST - safe for now
"When I received mine last year, it was a call. "Hey. Got a second?" It was 8:30 in the morning. I knew right away."
What time zone are you in?
When I received mine last year, it was a call. "Hey. Got a second?" It was 8:30 in the morning. I knew right away.
No, but when I do I'm going to click the "report Spam/Phish" button. Fix their a*s faces! It's WF professional thing to do
