Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What's the main reason that's pushing people to leave?

For the few people I know who quit in the last month, it was RTO. They were able to find full-time remote positions (lucky ba----ds) and move on. I know this is not true for everybody or maybe not even for the majority. It would be nice to know what other reasons are pushing people to leave.

You know you work at a garbage company when the cornerstone strategy of the exec all hinges on layoffs. Any monkey can hire a management consulting firm to tell them who to layoff and how. Most the leaders in this company would never be able to grow or start a company on their own. All they know is how to shaft employees and cut them so that they can suck the money out of them and into their exec bonuses

The C-suite for sure. The only reason I’m still here is because my direct managers are amazing and as bad as things are at the top, my immediate leadership has gone to great lengths to insulate us from their BS. I’m one of the rare lucky ones who ended working under a former Chase director that’s actually a decent human being, and since they are part of the Chase posse, they have the political capital to defy some of the most unpopular top-level mandates.

Failed leadership from everyone based in NYC. RTO is one result of stupid decisions from that group, but there's countless others. If the BoD was smart they'd S can that entire group.

Maria Menounos should sue WF. She started "Better Together", no? Seems like we might owe her some green also.

IMO, they're not pushing people to leave per se. It's just horrible leadership and making things worse. If they are pushing people to leave it's so they don't have to pay severance.

Seems to me they're trying to do too much on some fronts, and not nearly enough in other areas.

Just got an offer today from another company. Same level as I am now but $25K more a year in the same city. 15 years, 10 of that at the same level, had to post out to get a promotion. Sorry, too late. Tired of the BS. Fewer people means more work, but not just more, different work than my OG job title. I didn't sign up for that. All the outsourcing has me concerned. They are spending big bucks in India, just a matter of time. Honestly RTO was at the bottom of my list and I value it immensely.

  1. Culture of fire drills and cruelty
  2. Location strategy - didn’t care much about RTO but didn’t want to move
  3. Money
  4. Writing on the wall - WF won’t implode or cease to exist, but it will limp along as a dinosaur. There are greener and more exciting pastures.

Having to do more with less resources and no sense from the new upper management has had me contemplating leaving my group, but it might be out the door completely because it sounds like it is everywhere.

Returning to the graveyard office made the job intolerable. How did we not see how bad it was prior to Covid? I feel like I woke up from a spell. This place is The actual fu----g worst.

The C-Suite’s lack of respect for employees.

Respect goes both ways. Disrespect me, and I’ll go out of my way to make sure you’ll wish you hadn’t. Imagine a company where 250,000 employees have negative thoughts and resentments towards the executives. It’s not a recipe for success.

  1. The culture that chainsaw is creating
  2. Ridiculous staffing model
  3. Hypocrisy - spouting zero emissions and being green, yet forcing RTO for no reason other than his inflated ego
  4. Warped priorities - eliminating branch operations managers without proper trading for the manager and then wasting money on fancy new coffee machines with all the trimmings
  5. Chainsaw getting a 20% increase for destroying a company, while the rest of us peons are lucky to get a 2% increase
  6. RTO for no reason
  7. 401k change
  8. Reduced benefits every year
  9. Invasion of privacy
  10. Removing the tools to do our jobs and expecting us to pay for them (cell phone, laptops etc)
  11. You call for support to resolve a customer issue or any issue and IF you can reach someone you are passed around from department to department

Chainsaw has created a sh#tshow
