Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I'm still not able to relax

I know there won't be any more cuts for now but I am still unable to relax. I hoped I'd finally get a proper night's sleep but I was very much wrong about that. I guess the stress of not just the past three days but the past month or so will not be so easy to shake off.

As you shouldn't honestly. I wasn't quite "in the know" during SRD and kinda got complacent with things when it settled down. This round, I've gotten more tenured and knew way too many people who were let go. And based on the indirect comments from senior leadership, this is going to be ongoing. Don't fall into the trap of thinking it's over, cause it's clearly still going to happen again and again. Maybe not to that scale, but we're going to see more emails go invalid over the coming months/years more than we ever have.

Seems most let go were at the GSR / LL6 ranks. When will they get rid of all the useless LL5s? Or the LL5s who were quietly promoted over the past 2 years and are as ineffective as they were as LL6s?

Is Ford management trying to shake the tree with this latest round so more old timers leave? Are they trying to get younger workers to leave with salaries that don't keep up with inflation?

You should all seek a medical evaluation of PTSD or stress related anxiety, and get a medical disability buyout. If 2000 people did that now, maybe that would have Ford look at things differently.

I don’t think they are done yet. If you see Hau’s town hall - he had a slide showing all legacy ICE moving to GBS. So I expect more squeeze
