Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T lost its way a long time ago

After years of poor leadership, and no vision, we are now paying the price for those decisions. T is in a ho-e that won’t be easy to get out of in the near term.
I suspect we will see massive layoffs and poor working conditions for those that remain. And while we are trying to right the ship our competitors will continue to move ahead.

Not my post (posted originally by @1lsi+1inAhCdI ), but I couldn’t agree more. I don’t expect anything of this company anymore except for the even more attrition and endless cycles of layoffs.

There are way too may clueless people on this blog with zero knowledge of how business works. There isn't a judge on the planet that would declare AT&T bankrupt! Try getting a clue before you share your id--tic thoughts or ideas!

Better yet, just shut down the company and start a whole new company. Start fresh and make it great from the start.

The fastest way ATT can right the ship is to pull a GM. Declare bankruptcy, roll the profitable stuff to the NewCo, and leave the debt, environmental fines, pensions, etc. with the OldCo. As long as the government says we're too big to fail, we can keep the AT&T name and give it to NewCo. Then no one will will realize the extent of the bailout.

T has been living off the fat which was created in the first 115 years. For the past 35 years, T leadership has squandered and wasted corporate assets, time and time again. Currently $135B in debt, cash flow is drying up, nothing on the horizon in way of new revenue streams. What these, so called, leaders did while leading T is criminal. None were fit to be CEO's in any corporation. Plain and simple, they got their corporate pockets picked!

Lost it’s way? Hardly!

When an RSC upgrades our customer’s phone to retain them for another 30 months at $50ish a month, everyone in management gigs him/her for not slamming insurance. We lose $0 per month, because when the customer drops the $15 feature after 2 months (after they see it magically shows up in the bill and demand a bill credit).

But, what is the labor cost of the ASM coaching them about insurance? What is the cost of the RSC attending weekly calls about insurance? What is the cost of the ARSM hosting beating calls about insurance attach rate? What is the cost of a DOS creating a Insurance boot camp training? What is the cost of the VPGM covering insurance on weekly staff calls? What is the cost of local, regional and HQ marketing managers generating PowerPoints that no one will read? I’m guessing 50+ people spend 2,080 hours a year and make $100K plus to slam a feature that makes customers hate the retail experience. Make them jump to Consumer Cellular!

T is like a trust fund baby, only the fund is being depleting faster than it can be replaced....

It's truly a shame when AT&T is constantly every couple of years or so having to restructure, reorganize and re-invent themselves just to stay in the game! I know this is a highly competitive business, but T just doesn't seem to realize its strengths and keeps looking to go after business it knows very little about!

I feel sorry for the people who truly believe ATT is a winner. Obviously, you all missed the bigger picture in life.
I still work here for two more years for one reason- pension. After that, onto greener, higher paying pastures.

AT&T is finding it's way now. Mobility and fiber. Way to go Stankey.

Feel sorry for the workers that have to work with the whiners with the big mouth. Non-stop whining, same complaint over and over.
