Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How many in Ford ADAS or DAT were affected by the layoffs?

I was wondering if there are engineers and technicians affected that were working in and around ADAS or DAT? Feel free to share your story if you like since it's anonymous and you will find support here.

OP here - I apologize for my insensitive wording. I've just had unpleasant experiences working with a couple of people that were let go. I even heard this individual's supervisor exclusively exclaim publicly they were going to have a tough time reigning this person is. I'm sorry for the those affected seemingly at random but some of these moves feel targeted.

There were a lot of Integration and Validation engineers just working on Spreadsheets doing “Project Management”. The company is now trying to outsource that work. That why there were layoffs in ADAS.

"ADAS engineer here - there were less than a handful I know of. From the names I heard though - it seemed like it was targeted towards GSRs who were very difficult to work with and wouldn't change their ways. "

Give some first names with last initials to prove who these difficult people were in ADAS. You're anonymous and if you don't give the full name, it won't be a problem yet will be enough info to prove you are not talking S$IT.

From what I have seen, working with ADAS, there are a lot of trackers and not many “doers”. They could definitely reduce the trackers/reporters, and their associated LL6/LL5s.

They rely heavily on other core functions and there is a lot of fluff that can be eliminated.

Is adas really "all that"?? I thought it was one of Fords latest and greatest buzz word organizations and then all these cuts there make it sound like it is being disbanded and replaced for something with more glitter.

These aren't trolls per say, these are opinions. People get emotional when it's about layoffs.

That's also besides the point.

If you share what you know about the layoffs on this platform it isn't so easy for them to play their employees and you gain an understanding of the character of your company. Since it's anonymous, there may be an unpopular opinion but it's easy to overlook that for benefit of knowing more.

Believe me, they will be doing the same.

In ADAS from what I'm hearing, engineers over 55 years old were mainly affected. Draw what conclusion you will but I've seen the data myself.

Nobody will find support here, this is troll-city. Attacks and put-downs are the order of the day on the Ford thread.

"GSRs who were very difficult to work with and wouldn't change their ways. " That's nonsense and very judgemental. I never met anyone in ADAS working on DAT2 or DAT3 who was like that, not a single one. If someone was like you said, it would come up in the performance reviews, especially peer feedback. Ford does have performance reviews for a reason.... This layoff WAS NOT about removing "dead wood", non-performers or people unwilling to change.

ADAS engineer here - there were less than a handful I know of. From the names I heard though - it seemed like it was targeted towards GSRs who were very difficult to work with and wouldn't change their ways. I don't know any LL6s or LL5s that were removed. It seems like compared to other areas in the company, ADAS was not touched that significantly.
