LCS full of numb skulls

Anyone else’s experienced just how sh---y LCS is? The caliber of people in the “management“ positions is laughable.

No clear path to success just another bunch of busy people talking incomprehensible cr-p.

New President needs to cull the tired deadwood that’s floated into that part of the company.

@2bvf+1iq6UXYn - very good, but to be honest, I think they’re full of S(hit) !

I have had some previous experience with one of the VPs in LCS. I know he wasn’t a numb skull but he definitely wasn’t one to have a clue about the typical EM employee. I just saw a video with EO and I wonder if he has changed in the last few years. I wonder what those working with him think.

When you count the molecules, EM executives are more H(ydrogen) than C(arbon) composition. Bits of N(arcissism).
But it's all gas.
Everybody knows.

Bringing in a non-ExxonMobil executive in March 2022 to be the President of Low Carbon Solutions should tell you about the state of internal V.P.'s that wanted the title of President. The new President will realize by the end of this year that we do not really have an "extensive portfolio of low emission technologies" as the Business Wire press release mentioned in March 2022.

March 22, 2022 02:58 PM Eastern Daylight Time
IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ExxonMobil said today that Dan Ammann, former General Motors president and CEO of Cruise autonomous vehicle company, has been appointed president of ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions, effective May 1. Ammann replaces Joe Blommaert, who has elected to retire after 35 years of service.

“We welcome Dan to ExxonMobil and will use his knowledge and experience to continue to build our Low Carbon Solutions business,” said Darren Woods, chief executive officer and chairman. “I thank Joe for his contributions to the company’s success and the significant progress made in developing our lower-emissions business. I wish Joe all the best in retirement.”

Ammann was named CEO of Cruise, which is majority-owned by GM, in 2018, and was appointed president of GM in 2014. He was previously GM’s chief financial officer and joined GM as treasurer in 2010. He helped lead GM's initial public offering following the company’s 2009 restructuring.

Ammann began his career as an investment banker, starting at Credit Suisse First Boston in 1994 and moving to Morgan Stanley in 1999, where he was named a managing director in 2005. Ammann received a bachelor degree in management studies from the University of Waikato in New Zealand.

Blommaert, who has been president of Low Carbon Solutions since its creation in 2021, joined ExxonMobil Chemical in 1988 as a process engineer at the Rozenburg chemical plant in the Netherlands. Following assignments in the Netherlands, Belgium, and the United States, Blommaert was appointed regional director for Europe and Asia Pacific chemical operations in 2014 and became senior vice president of global operations for the Chemical business in 2019.

Blommaert has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.

ExxonMobil created the Low Carbon Solutions business to commercialize the company’s extensive low-emission portfolio with the objective to create long-term shareholder value and support global emission-reduction efforts.

Low Carbon Solutions is focused on commercializing low-emission business opportunities in carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and low-emission fuels, by leveraging the skills, knowledge and scale of ExxonMobil.

Haha. I am in LCS. I am not a numb skull and as a result I am already dropping in ranking for disagreeing with the previous bad strategy prior to the regime change. It’s the same as all the other orgs. Yes lots of hi POs so best to avoid it if you’re playing the ranking game. Most will lose.

You folks are making sound observations IF the corporation was serious about LCS. It is not, it is just cheap greenwashing with an upside of potential additional hydrocarbon value chain cash generation.

It's just distraction and delay.

Lots of HiPos in LCS. This is a good test for them to validate their potential.

The quality of some of the people in LCS is laughable. A few got there riding on the coat tails of others. The few I’m thinking of has no background in the areas they are responsible for, never did their own work, and spent their entire previous assignments brown-nosing. If the company want to be successful, positions in that organization should be openly posted to find the most qualified candidates. It’s a shame that it’s a pony show and bloated with “sponsored” favorites. The sync calls are a terrible waste of time.
