Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Have you met my friends at raytheon, harris, l3, and intel?

I am stuck here. Can not move due to family.
Will remain retired in place until fired.
Meanwhile my hobby is convincing new hires to seek better jobs.
6 for 6 so far.
The recruiters at raytheon and intel call me directly for leads.
Meanwhile i get great reviews for doing more with less.

I left HW about 2.5 years ago. From bosses that give you no credit, no raises and forced into a dead-end supply chain job to a company that has plenty of great technical work, great employees and 20% more pay. From bad stress to good stress. There is a God.🙂

I left on my own earlier this year with over 35 years with Honeywell. I went to one of the 3 companies you named. Best decision I ever made! In fact I kick myself in the bu-t for not leaving earlier. Stress level down and my overall health is better

Would love to review except that engineer is supporting 10 or more projects and the answer is same on all of them... single point failure.

This is hilarious. Do people actually need convincing they should leave?
Hey HR, what are you doing to keep people? Losing 2 engrs in 6mo or any 5+yr engineer should result in immidiate review of their group and projects. Time to start grading up. I'd like to give my site a midyear review.

Hey guys, I do the same thing. When people ask how it is working here? I'm 100% honest: it s-u-c-h-s. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother coming to HON. Any of you futureshaping Kool aid drinkers think this is a great place to work need to have your heads examined.

I can be sued in court? Lol.
Consider cutting down on the coolaid.
Honeywell has given me awards every year for leading a department that gets the jobs done early and consistently under budget.
Everyone has a goal. My goal is to retire and have no one left who remembers my name let alone how to keep product shipping. It is the Honeywell way. Not my fault if honest kcat training results in attrition.

Be very careful what you wish for. Honeywell has such distain for employees and those they recognize they need an even greater distain for adequate pay and god for bid benefits. 'ol fat cote started the benefit reductions en mase and now you have a shell a former great or multiple great companies.

Insidious anger is a predictable reaction to the emotional damage done to Honeywell employees from 2016 to 2020.
Honeywell cultivated, nurtured, and rewarded a management language based on fear and inadequacy.
"Burning Platform" : Fear.
"Unachievable Goals ( "EEI" and "Big Hairy Goals") : Inadequacy
Footprint reductions from 241 to 138 sites (quote from DEF 14A, 2020) : Dread

The language of oppression is anger. It is inevitable and it terrifies the executives. They know and they understand the outcomes it usually produces.
Now they have to placate and drink the bitter tea of learning to rebuild relationships.

Personally I don't think the corporate entity can do it.
More likely is scars that don't heal until a generation has left the company.

PS:
I wondered when they released all that training on "internal threats"?
pro-active preparation or a response to some incident?
What do you think?

Glad I left this garbage company, if your coworkers act like the OP why stay in a toxic environment trying to internally sabotage the company. Not only is the leadership bad at this company plenty of coworkers make the company very toxic.

There is a huge difference between disliking the company, not putting in extra effort, sticking to 40 hours, checking completely out off-the-clock, etc -- vs -- actively sabotaging the company. You can be sued in civil court and will lose if they find any evidence of it.

No matter your location- you can find another job.

All those are failing companies as well. Better to join modern tech companies that offer better compensation, benefits and more innovation.
