Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The purge is coming

After surviving several layoff rounds, here are my rules for the purge:

  1. Create weak links in the team by badmouthing colleagues every opportunity you get
  2. Send more emails to show your productivity
  3. Send status updates whenever a tiny thing changes to show progress
  4. Pick easier tasks and offload difficult tasks to chumps
  5. Offer colleagues help in difficult tasks but leave them hanging
  6. When they finish the difficult task, present their work as your own to your manager
  7. Offer to review everyones work who wants it and sow doubts

When the purge begins, you will seem like the rockstar to your manager and your colleagues will look like purge material.

Petty empire fights sound just about right

Caste, village, husband/wife status. Favors traded in the cafeteria with technical assistants. Demonstrated loyalty in petty empire fights. The usual Intel parameters.

That used to matter. Now we have no idea what parameters they are going to plug into the AI. Performance has not made a difference since 2016 layoffs.

You'll know when your manager adds an onsite meeting to your calendar. Once you enter the lobby security waves you into a conference room off to the side. You are asked to sign paperwork under duress. All done very sneaky and under the radar. Remember...it's just business.
