There’s a special category of mo_rons who are younger, are hanging on despite feeling the effects of toxicity, kind of know they will never reach retirement but pretend they will, because they have no skills, no courage and no hope of another job. They direct their envious insults at those who are close to 55 and still have a chance to get an amputated retirement, as if it’s the older people who are responsible for the new EM’s dead end “careers”!
The lowest form of EM sc-m. If they would have been sponsored, they would thrive in the ranks of comfy parasites.
High flyer+looked around for 2 months= left for 30% uplift and counting. Promoted 6 months in. 9/80. WFH as needed no questions asked. Competent industry experienced management. Not micro-managed. CEO & VP of ops have directly reached out to discuss technical strategies. The list goes on…

For financial reasons only, I was going to wait until I hit at least 60. After the layoffs in 2020, and the nonsense of the last few years, I decided I cannot imagine surviving that long in this environment. Now, 55 will do.
Waiting for the moment I am eligible has proven to be the longest year of my life. I have 5 months left. It’ll be the best birthday ever.
