2 Week Notice?

Anyone put in their 2 week notice lately? Is BOA honoring that, or are they being a holes and telling you to let that be your last day?

I humbly accept this opportunity commiserate:

In my region we’ve witnessed a rash of associates depart for roles they had accepted at something that rhymes with Rabies Organ's Face. These associates spoke plainly, and it was openly shared knowledge with BofA colleagues, including management. The paths on how these departures played out, however, touched both sides of the spectrum depending on the departing associate in question. There were instances where the turnover occurred without any notice. There were also instances where 2+ weeks notice was accepted and associates knowingly worked alongside someone every day who was about to transition to the aforementioned competitor.

My interpretation of the latter scenarios are as follows: For more than 2 years this region has struggled mightily to reliably keep FC's open and all bets are off. Clients report regularly that they have given up on X location in X town/city because they were tired of the inconsistency, sometimes this ends up meaning they have given up on their relationships with BofA altogether. I do not think I have to spell out any further (but I will) how precarious of a position this should have senior management in, and why the cumulative effects have been so corrosive to the workplace culture in general.

Staff movements happen daily because new hires have commonly been the fastest ones to quit. I cannot recall the last time I worked with someone who was happy to simply come into work, although some make a genuinely commendable effort of maintaining a positive disposition. Someone is always getting a call during their morning commute to turn around and go somewhere else. Non-managers of all kinds are expected to train new hires because the managers themselves have had limited to no training. Yet the messaging is still the same from the top down. Admit to nothing. Keep people in the dark, say everything is fine and dandy lol

I was told to go home. They didn’t even tell me to enjoy the free 2 week vacation before I started another job. Also word to the wise a lot of people on the inside will tell you the grass is not always greener on the other side if you start looking at other companies- I can attest the grass is the most luscious greenest of green pastures on the other side. Haven’t looked back since I left earlier in the year

Save yourself the embarrassment of being escorted from the bank as if you're some criminal doing a perp walk. Send an email with your resignation letter to your manager, and copy to the HR rep. Offer to work for the next 2 weeks as a professional courtesy to help answer questions and coordinate any transitions of work to other team members. Offer to do a Zoom call for an exit interview, if needed. HR will coordinate for you to send your laptop and badge back. Be professional through the whole process because some of the bad apples will do anything and everything to smear your professional reputation even if you have been a model employee.

I had to work it, but I didn’t tell them where I was going. If to a competitor it’s policy, you are gone.

I gave over 2 weeks notice and was allowed to stay until my end date last month. I didn’t go to a competitor so not sure if that’s part of it.

Access was pulled and was told I could still call into meeting or not. Free two weeks of vacation!
