Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Quite Quitting: I’m done, good people let go, and town hall was a joke. Many of my colleges have joined me.

Too bad Ford did not give us packages. We’re not working to line the pockets of the many LLxs.

The threat of getting fired will make someone work just hard enough to not get fired

Its called "autocorrect" since most of us log into this site on our phones, so we can't be traced. Mr./Mrs. Perfect!

For those still on the pension plan you are gambling, and the house has the odds in their favor. With interest rates you stand to lose a quarter of you lump sum after new year's. If you elect to stay for how long do you think you will be employed before they tap you on the shoulder? Three they freeze the pension before the interest rates drop. If you are walked out or pension is frozen, you are lining the pockets of the top level. Sorry I won't do that.
I plan to submit my paperwork and get out. Leave the state and never look back. It is a totally different company now than when i hired in. I encourage everyone to sit back and take a moment to look at the state of your future at Ford beyond the holidays. Then your choice will be an easy one.

Quiet Quitting, more like Quiet Firing. How many people get pigeoned holed into a dead end area of the company, get assignments that never fulfill their capabilities or their aspirations for learning. It’s sad how not everyone gets a fair shot at a career. All the people who were blocked to leave the ICE side of the business, etc. Also those with experience who want to lead but are blocked because they do not fit the diversity quota, or suck a-s requirement but people who have expressed zero interest or demonstrated capabilities to lead are promoted because of their DNA. This “Quiet Firing” trend has been going on for at least the last 20 years. Look at the performance of the company over the last 25 years and it’s quite the fall from grace. It starts and ends with the culture of the company. Everything listed above are systemic throughout it, Quiet anything is nothing new.

More layoffs are coming. Poor quality, lower market share every year. The folks leaving doubtfully with ever buy ford and same for extended family and friends. Get ready you are next. Sears and Kmart... how do you think they felt in your position. Just management lies for years of bad decisions.

“Quiet quitting” is just employers putting negative spin on people having boundaries. If you already have too much work and management asks you to pick up a task from a position they chose to eliminate you should push back. These are the repercussions of a decision they have made and it’s not on your shoulders to figure out how to get everything done.

My friends that wanted to go that are still there are pi---d. I don’t know what I did to be picked but I feel extremely fortunate getting the severance. I was working for 3 LL4 s and not one of them has contacted me to congratulate me on my years of great work. Their lives will be a living he-l when the core folks walk awsy to capture their lump sums.

Actually you go right ahead with this plan and help them reach their true goal 8000. Except instead of a package they will just fire you for poor performance. That is the by product of the quarterly reviews as now they no longer have to wait a whole year before getting rid of you…..

They're going to quickly realize if they haven't already that they just disengaged a significant portion of the workforce. Nothing in any town hall I've seen so far has done anything but exacerbate concerns of cyclical layoffs but "keep motivated" and "there's a place at Ford for hard workers" and "we can't reskill employees to the scale needed."

Just about everyone I've talked to in multiple areas of the company are deeply entrenched in apathy and "quietly quitting" after last week. Senior leadership is incredibly tone deaf, and just expects the grunts to sweep the bodies under the rug and step over them like nothing happened.
