Even if the 8,000 number was incorrect, Farley did not correct that number to employees and say it would only be 3,000. Instead, he let this go on for months, hoping people would jump ship. What happened to – We will keep the employees informed first?

If friends and family plan folks don't leave soon the company will go bankrupt for sure.
8,000 will not be the end, as Ford has 25,000 too many salary people.
The other 17,000 are on the friends and family plan, so it’s not as easy to get rid of them.
Because all earlier rounds are/were classified under SRD not layoffs (or more correct technical term "elimination of positions")....There is legal and tax rationale behind classifying the "separations" ....
SRD = Non voluntary separations i.e. cost management
Current round = Elimination of position due to business rationale i.e. focus on EV
To: In the Know. What about the ones who were let go in the spring? Those numbers don't seem to be in your figures.
Folks - below is the math (i am in the know...headcount team @ WHQ)
- 2,000 Blue badged (Comp)
- 1,000 Green badged ( Comp)
- 2,000 Retiree projection (once the new pension formula is published on Sept. 26)
- 1,000 Further Green badged and supplemental (mostly South America/Mexico)
- 2,000 Eliminate "approved" headcount but NOT filled ---mostly in AV,Design, Quality and rest of orgs
- - TOTAL = 8,000 IN 22/23CY
They will do the 8000. Just waiting for upcoming retirements in NOV and the will get to 8000. Some buyouts too.

Ford is losing some good people.
It was released by Ford and never corrected until recently. If it was not correct all along then why keep everyone on edge for weeks? Someone is not being straight up.
Or it is the same playbook Ford has been running for years??? Way Forward, SRD…anyone remember the names before those??? There should be a Wikipedia so everyone can see this has been going on forever.

Ford probably pays off the media and gives them puff advertisement type pieces to run..
Upper mgmt thinks employees are too stupid to figure out they were the ones to release the original news.
