Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What if HR let us hire qualified people in risk?

What would happen?

Do you think the asset cap would be gone by now?

What if HR let us hire qualified people ‘AND’ we cut 25% of employees in risk?

I think we would be on the tail end of the asset cap. We spend way too much time baby sitting the ill equipped and continue to let friends hire friends into Sr. roles. Club after club after club. All the while making no progress. As an example, it would be fair to say that Compliance is actively going backwards due to lack of appropriate experience within its Sr. Mgmt.

They forced the qualified people out by the constant attacks on the rank and file.

Wells Fargo audit has minimal coverage of HR. It’s been a mess for a long time! Is HR achieving its business objects? Typically not. And we’ve been in the paper way too much.

Legal as well. Minimal to no coverage of Legal.

And who is involved in most of the bank’s problems? There’s always a connection with HR and Legal.

The bank is too big. Risk management is in effective.

The OCC hasn’t made the connection with safety and soundness yet. It’s 2022. Not 1982. Update your little exam manuals. Use critical thinking. Do your job.

And quite relying on WF audit. Staff up. Do your job.

If the board really wants the asset cap gone, they'd ditch Scharf and his Chase sycophants.

Am in compliance and thoroughly applaud this sentiment. It’s always the same players getting in the way creating obstacles when you and the business have already figured out a compliant path. Most of them have shoddy work histories or cr---y education or spend everyone’s last atom and mental energy on hogging phone calls to go off on tangents. But they always get promoted while the rest of us solve problems so ….

I completely agree.I don’t golf, so that leaves me behind. Reminds me of the WF and Wachovia merger back in 2008 when they began inserting all these mid-level managers in positions. That was a laugh. Having a manager’s manager report to someone who has no idea what’s going on.Needless to say, most of those people retired or just left.
