Is VZ immune to the massive layoffs experienced at TMUS?

Yes, because of different reasons.

TMUS is laying off due to the Sprint merger, so those numbers will be larger.

VZ's will be smaller. more targeted.... and those do NOT have to be reported to the SEC

Since 2008 IT generally has at least one 5%+ RIF per year, but since COVID the RIFs have more targeted.

The dude below must live in a bubble. They axed 12,000 employees just last year. And they have done far worse in previous years. Open your eyes.

I've been with Verizon 6 years. Never known them to layoff 3K employees in one fell swoop like magenta is.

Lol. Are you freaking joking? Verizon has RIFS every quarter. Just lost a sh-t ton of people a month ago. It’s not enough to make the headlines. What department are you in that you were not already aware of our regularly planned RIFS?

Lol Verizon had rifs throughout the summer. We don't have a sprint merger to lay off tons of redundant people but the rifs have already happened and will continue until financials improve. HR will do whatever it takes to keep it out of the news.

Problem with Verizon is they never RIF the right ones.

Based on VZ's last two earnings announcements, what makes you confident VZ is financially stable, and won't need layoffs? They RIF thousands of people every year, even during good times.

Yes, VZ is immune, why? Because VZ is a financially healthy company, unlike TMUS.
