Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Man, I love this place!

Layoff.com that is. This is the only place that I know of where I can get information about what is going on with Honeywell in all of its SBG's. Honeywell does its best to keep us all isolated and ignorant.

Honeywell tries to create a sense of competition between its business units by lifting one unit/region above another with praise at a Town Hall. The next Town Hall will have another unit/region lifted. None of the performance metrics are independently verifiable except maybe through public filings which are difficult to read, and made purposely so. I have seen this behavior at several companies in my 35+ years and I have experienced both sides of being trashed and praised compared to another group. Several times I have I had close friends in the other group. Enough so that i realized a long time ago that this activity is common practice with companies that have multiple sites or business groups.

Some folks come here only to complain about how they were shafted. There is typically a grain of truth in even the most vitriolic of posts. However, when the SHTF in a group, I believe it. Not all of the words will be 100% true, but there will be enough information that I can discern the truth.

And the truth is that Honeywell is only about executive compensation and stock price. No current corporate sacrifice will be made to create a better future for the company or the employees as a whole. The workers will always be expected to pick up the slack and keep the projects/schedules on track after layoffs/setbacks. Nothing extra will be given when the employees are successful under these very difficult circumstances.

That is why I love this site. I feel informed.
Thanks all!

Comment from the "Karen's" Why wouldn't anybody want to work here? This place is great! Really>? here's why-
1- Constant threats
2- Always RIF season especially before December 15th so they dont have to pay match
3- Annual benefits reduction
4- Worst medical plan on the planet
5- Worst dr-g plan on the planet
6- No dental plan
7- Ra--d retirement plan
8- Horrible leadership
9- Sick buildings full of mold and Rona
10- Connected 24/7

But but but- We have an adoption plan that pays for.... something that 99% of people will never use and the 1% that do HW will find a way to not pay

Keep the list going

Well said!!! This company is truly ran by two faced hypocrites. Employees will always come in last, executive compensation is their only concern.

Fortunately in the UK we are protected from the misuse of furloughs. I feel for our American colleagues being so blantantly robbed.

Yes, furloughs are just there for stabilizing the stock price. Hence, executive compensation. Please wake up you guys in the US. Don’t accept this like we do in Europe. Just use social media.

This is the only company that has regular furloughs even when the company is making record profits.

Am I right that furloughs are a way to take money from employees to boost the financials for a quarter thus the stock price and therefore the executives get their bonuses. So this is a type of money grab essentially from the poorest to the rich?
