Only id--ts would build out capacity to support transient pandemic fueled demand.

Intel has a crack management team hard at work at wasting huge amounts of shareholder and government capital.

The stock value is about to cross into the 20s — and 28 would be half of this year’s 52-week high. Discrete graphics, traditional CPUs now that the WFH refresh is over, AMD’s strong competitive position, storage (NAND, Optane) is out or on it’s way out, and non-processor companies such as Apple are succeeding in creating their own custom solution — nothing looks good right now.

Maybe layoffs and under-the-radar project cuts won’t happen, but as an employee you should prepare as if they are highly likely.

Directors are generally managers at Grade 10.

Pat needs his $250M. They should target more like 50% to make any good impact. Start packing now. Nobody will miss you.

______ (managers, directors, VP or executives) being told to cut ___% across groups.

OP: If directors were told something, how did you get the info, your director friends, or yourself as a director?

@cty+1iy5VCrO. You got to get the facts right especially you're from HR. Last major lay-offs was ACT 2016.

Layoffs may happen but it has been almost 10 years since the last one.

The CEO oves to see suffering. It bolsters his faith in his sky god.
He did yearly layoffs at vmware, just because he could.
Don't know if he'll do the same thing at Intel, but he's gotta get those numbers up, somehow.....

Director means manager of managers. Stop panicking pu----s. Layoffs may happen but it has been almost 10 years since the last one. Intel is a GPTW usually. If the PC market changes then Intel changes. Long term OK.

Fake news. No cuts. Intel still handing out offers left and right plus lot of interviews in pipeline. May be few recruiters down sizing due to slow hiring.

You only need worry if you are an individual contributor. As usual, all managers will be spared.

Sure, but how to ensure the wrong folks do not get shoved out in the upcoming Oct 10% cull?

Same in SATG, one level below VP in charge of 40 or more....so called "director" is planning an October 10% cut
