Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Massive Layoffs beyond everyone's comprehension

Are coming. The cash just isn't flowing in the doors to cover employees, debt, and dividends. The executives are at the point of tossing the hail Mary and that will be to get the early cash infusion and let services suffer. Long term this will lead to an exodus of customers as the price ATT is charging for average services is well above what people's options are. Leadership has been very quiet and for good reason. They are sharpening their axes and there are no sacred cows when you miss quarterly cash flow by $2B and stock is in a death spiral.

We can stop this if we buy enough stock. Don't let Stankey and his cronies cut your jobs to pay for buybacks!

T is just like a bottomless gold mine. We have money coming out our ears. The regular customers, business customers, the federal government! We can withstand turbulent economic times, including recessions and depressions. No need to layoff. They said on the news that rebuilding Florida would cost $45B, that is chump change to a company like ours. We bring in $145B every year!

Even with reduced free cash flow, still plenty of cash for workers, investors and debt. Stankey is keeping the gravy train rolling.

They get rid of the ones honestly working and holding those accountable while driving results.

I do maybe 4 jobs a week.
The dispatchers are lazy, so they sit on pending pool jobs until right before they leave.
That means OT for me.
But I do waste $300 a week in gas for the bucket looking busy.
And making great money for very little effort.
They know, but seem not to care.
This company is doomed.
But not my problem.

Layoffs? Yes please, to those over paid Operation Mgrs and Design Engineers out there "working" from home in the PNW. Just because you are "logged" in or only required to stop in once a month at a vacant building, doesn't define 'working'. Cut these lazy people, rather than the employees that actually work hard for a whole lot less! I see it everyday, overpaid couch potatoes that T gives exuberant salaries, raises and bonus. The lead allows as they all cover for each other. The "good job" evaluations provided for the raises, really T? Time to pay attention to where money is being wasted.

Why do they allow top tier management to lay around all their couch all day playing games and using social media, all while receiving a pretty pay check/bonus'/raises?
Each employee covering for the other on their "team". It's ridiculous. Get back to work!
Wake up T and manage your management! Layoff these employees.

I am a former mental patient and a current employee. If they lay me off do I have any recourse? Can I sue them for mental anguish? Everyday I always sit with my back against the wall. I tend not to trust anyone. I even wear a white hat now. Is there anything else I could do to survive at T?

Getting rid of unneeded workers. Hiring workers if more workers are needed. Adjust business as needed. Go AT&T.

It should be 20% or 40K. Since T screws everything up, look for this to be another such example. Dump Stankey, dump Stephenson, dump Pascal, and dump Santone.

The supposed leadership of AT&T see employees & retirees as an income source. These Bozos decimated "benefits" i.e., Land Line, Mobile, Entertainment, Internet discounts and over charge us for the same C. Rappy service & support that they provide to the public. As a retired District - I no longer have any AT&T services because the competitors are cheaper & simply provide better service/support. I spent 30 years in operations and it takes years to get really good at repairing electronics. The Stink acts like they can just hire a newby and layoff their longer term knowledgeable employees and be successful. Santone appears to think you just take-back benefits for retirees & active employees and they will accept it. Give them a 10% on an already overpriced priduct. I say NO, removing benefits & discounts results in retirees/employees fleeing to the competition and it ruins attitudes. I'm just here for the comments and I daytrade this stock. T is not a long term investment. I've made my money & really don't care if at&t goes out of business but reading the comments here and knowing some poor soles still working at at&t is just plain sad. Buy low, sell higher. Cha Ching.

It's the beginning of the end for ole T. Please give Stephenson, Stankey, and Pascal a big bonus, they have earned it!
