This is all just wishful thinking hoping you'll be one of the recipients of a severance package due to layoffs. The layoff isn't going to be as big or devastating as you think!
I believe if there was going to be a massive layoff, it would have happened by now.

2023 will probably be a big layoff year for most big corporations due to the deflation that will start appearing in the 1st or 2nd quarter of the year. If you are in a big group with little work then I would recommend to start saving money and watching costs incase your one of the chosen.
Next year will make 2022 look like a walk in the park. Be prepared even if you don't lose your job right away cause it will take many many years to recover from the disastrous leadership in the USA.
Why do you keep saying "layoffs"? Are you worried cuz there isn't enough work?
