Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco doesn't know when enough is enough

Managers do not know when to stop and where is the limit of tolerance when it comes to overwhelming employees with work. I don't intend to work like a robot, because more or less we can all find better options if we try.

However, I wonder if the problem lies in the tactlessness of managers who do not know how to recognize when a good employee has had enough and is about to leave, or maybe they really want good employees to leave?

If you think Cisco overworks you, my advice is don't go anywhere else unless you want a rude surprise.

Sorry for the repeat posts. When you hit “Submit” and nothing happens and you do it a few more times it takes each as a separate message.

Figure out what the company measures and you’ll learn what the company values. If losing employees doesn’t cause a dashboard to go red and risk their bonus they don’t care, and most engineers I worked with at Cisco eventually adopted the same attitude.

For those that think this is new lookup “Neutron Jack” who was one of Chambers’ idols. It’s been happening longer than many of you have been alive.

Don't expect anyone will do anything for you. Cisco is not the company most people think it would. Everyone is quiet stone-faced expressionless chess piece who just follows his/her manager without any question or comment and just stay for money and longer tenure.

No career growth. No team work. Just a big empty ho-e.

All employees are just supposed to obey those employees with decades tenure employees who have no expert/skill who have gained nothing that can be written in resume.

Lol, I'm going to clue you in on a little secret and maybe you'll wise up a bit. Nobody cares.

Cisco has become a toxic company on the managed decline and the only thing that matters is whether or not you're one of the cool kids. Chuckie and his clique are picking the meat off this rotting carcass, anybody else with a shred of intelligence is doing the same thing.

The only reason to stick around Cisco is for the paid perpetual vacation. Your manager does not care about your concerns or whether or not you stick around.
